Meet Julie Ransom

Role: Childcare Assistant

Julie is one of those people who brings warmth, energy and a genuine love of children into everything she does — and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the Pouncing Panthers team!

Why Pouncing Panthers?

When Julie heard that a new wraparound care setting was opening locally, she jumped at the opportunity to continue supporting children and families she already knew well. It felt like a natural next step — working in familiar schools, with familiar faces, and building on strong, trusted relationships.

Julie joined Pouncing Panthers in January 2024, right at the start of our partnership with Mudeford Junior School. Her role now spans both Mudeford Junior and Infant Schools, making her a friendly, reassuring face for many of our children.

What does Julie love most?

Julie loves being part of a team that shares the same values and ethos — creating a safe, nurturing and fun environmentwhere children can relax after the school day. She’s passionate about helping children grow in confidence, build friendships and feel supported, knowing there’s always a trusted adult they can turn to when they need comfort or reassurance.

A little about Julie’s background

Julie has always loved working with children and has an incredibly varied and fascinating background! Over the years she has worked in:

  • Schools and childcare settings
  • Summer clubs
  • A prison crèche
  • As a private tutor in the USA
  • Teaching in Uganda, East Africa

She has also worked in London across telecoms, local borough councils and marketing & events — including organising high-profile openings of Children’s Centres and even attending youth safety events at the Houses of Parliament.

After starting her own family, Julie and her husband made the move to the south coast. Since then, she has run gardening and wildlife sessions at a local infant school and helped deliver after-school provision at a junior school — programmes that have now been running successfully for over eight years. She has also volunteered with local Beavers and Cubs groups.
