Meet Effie Childs

Role: Childcare Assistant

Effie is one of our lovely, familiar faces at Pouncing Panthers! She works as a Teaching Assistant during the school day and joins us at after school club, which means many of the children already know and trust her — helping them feel settled, safe and happy.

Effie wanted to work at Pouncing Panthers so she could continue supporting the children she works with during the school day and be part of their extended care routine.

Her favourite part of the job?
The children, of course!

About Effie

Effie brings a wonderful mix of creativity, care and confidence-building to the team. She holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Acting and has completed a wide range of training including:

• Paediatric First Aid
• Safeguarding
• Food Safety
• Autism Practice
• Sensory Circuits
• Phonics Support
• Trauma-Informed Practice

Alongside her role at school and Pouncing Panthers, Effie also teaches at a theatre school on Saturdays, helping children grow in confidence, express themselves and take part in performances — skills she loves bringing into club activities through imaginative play, drama and creative games.

Fun Facts About Effie

Hidden talent: Effie holds a certificate from the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC) — trained in rapier & dagger and unarmed stage fighting (don’t worry, it’s all strictly theatrical!).

Claim to fame: She received her university degree from none other than Jeremy Irons!

Effie’s warm personality, creativity and strong relationships with the children make her a valued and much-loved member of the Pouncing Panthers team.
